With a payroll hovering around $210 MILLION DOLLARS, they're supposed to win. Baseball is the greatest game in the world but economically speaking it leaves a lot to be desired. The Yankees just laugh at the "luxury tax" system currently in place as they continue to OUTBID(not to mention bid against themselves) other teams for the best free agents year in and year out. This past year alone they spent more on the top free agents available in the off season(Sabathia, Burnett, Texiera) than the next 3 TEAMS combined to spend on the remaining free agents. Needless to say a new labor agreement is probably long overdue. Rooting for the Yankees to win is like rooting for Walmart to outsell garage sales in a small community.
